082CenterCenter for Art Education/Student SupportEstablished in April 2007, when the right to administer Aichi University of the Arts was transferred from Aichi prefecture to the Aichi Public University Corporation, the Art Education and Student Support Center is an organization to make the university's entire educational plan and to promote its educational reform. It also oers an array of services,resources, and programs to support student life such as academic advising and career counseling.Specically, the center manages the followings: educational contents and teaching methods (FD:Faculty Development), entrance examinations, grading,syllabus plan, certicates including teaching certicates and curator’s certicates, scholarships, student health and welfare, student organizations, and rules and policies of student behavior. It also oers personal counseling, academic advising, and career counseling.The center is an open institution devoted to help and enrich student life.Center for Promoting Fine Arts and MusicThe importance of a university is not only to provide fruitful education, research, and creation, but just as importantly, always to be open to and strive to benet the public. Aichi University of the Arts has great achievements and potentials created by its over forty years' history. Rather than keeping them within the university, they are expected to be available to the public, and be resources to produce something new through the cooperation between the public and the university.In response to these expectations, the Center for Promoting Fine Arts and Music was established to promote the relations between the community and the university. The center coordinates various programs such as “Partnership” and “International Exchange”.In the former program, the center creates partnership with the local community for its artistic and cultural enrichment. The latter program promotes exchanges with foreign universities and research institutes.The center has borne a variety of achievements. For example, the Center has oered “Aichi University of the Arts Satellite Lecture” since 2007 academic year. In this program, people of various ages and occupations take intensive lectures away from those given by conventional culture centers,and have irreplaceable the university's experience. Also, within the campus, the “Artists in Residence” program has invited many leading artists from both Japan and abroad. They have given students an international education through their distinctive and intensive lectures, workshops, and lessons. The Center for Promoting Fine Arts and Music will commit to engage in a variety of creative activities to make the university open and vibrant.International Exchange ProgramThe university strives to give students an internationaleducation in their artistic disciplines. It has concludedacademic exchange agreements with overseas universities, and coordinated the“ Artists in Residence” program. Through these activities, international artists and researchers have visited the university and held exhibitions, recitals, workshops, and lectures.The university will promote exchange agreements with foreign universities to further develop student exchanges. It encourages students to be active internationally.Community Involvement/PartnershipBased on the belief that universities need to be open to society, Aichi University of the Arts is involved in the community to share the university's research and educational resources with the community. In addition, the University has been creating partnership with organizations that are willing to undertake new initiatives by strengthen their characteristics and potentials. These organizations include universities, museums, theaters, halls, local governments, and business enterprises. Students as well as faculty members actively take part in these activities. The university will continue to engage in activities that vitalize it and the local community at the same time.Art Information CenterThe Art Information Center is established to contributeto educational and research activities at Aichi University of the Arts in April 2010. As a network to oer art information, the center collects, manages, and coordinates various types of information media such as books, electronic data, and any other materials.The Center has a library with a collection of art books including valuable works, music books, musical scores, and audio-visual materials. The library is equipped with a search system to enable eective use of these information resources. Through various specialized databases on art, users can search articles and periodicals of their needs.For the ecient use of art information, the operation of a reliable network system is essential.The center is committed to organize various databases, such as digital information about the university’ s researches and library resources, and coordinate them into the network system. It serves to provide art information in accordance with user's needs.
